Them What-Ifs.

There will come a point in your precious life, maybe at your wedding day, or at the height of any happiness with someone that you love right now that you will look back and remember someone from your past. I call them our “what ifs”.

Someone you knew from the start you will never ever forget, no matter how many failed relationships you had, or no matter how many glorious moments.

Someone whose name when mentioned pulls a fleeting tug in you heartstrings, maybe a smile, a memory, a picture.

Someone you knew you really fall for, infact he was someone who you kept falling for no matter how many days nor bitter years went by.

Someone who holds a very special, warm, place in your heart that went irreplaceable for years that went by and for years to come.

Someone you hardly remember, but felt familiar in a crazy, manic way.

Someone who you wish all the happiness in the world, without bitterness nor jealousy, because your heart tells you he rightfully deserves it. In the same way that you deserve whatever joy you have right now.

Someone who for some reason, you can never have and never will. Because the universe conspires that you remain so – just what ifs.

But the good thing about it is that you don’t feel any hatred towards the circumstances, nor regrets. Because you know that’s how things should be. Because you understand that there’s a bigger reason why.
